Shakespearean scholar Marjorie Garber will give a lecture this Saturday, August 9 at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. Garber is author of the critically acclaimed book Shakespeare After All, which analyzes each of Shakespeare’s thirty-eight play in chronological sequence. Garber’s lecture on Saturday is based on her most recent book, Profiling Shakespeare. Profiling Shakespeare is a collection of essays examining Shakespeare’s life and writings as well as the image of the Bard constructed by generations of admirers and scholars.
Garber’s lecture is part of the International Master Directors’ Summit. The summit brings a group of distinguished directors from around the world to conduct master-classes with 10 Canadian directors. The goal of the summit is to create a forum for an international exchange of directing ideas and methodologies.
Garber’s lecture is open to the public. It will be held at 10 a.m. in the festival’s Studio Theatre. For tickets, contact the box office at 1-800-567-1600.
